Originally from Jaipur, India Ankita moved to Japan to pursue her higher studies in The University of
Tokyo, under Panasonic Scholarship Program in 2013. After finishing her Masters in Bioengineering,
she worked as a graduate researcher in at The Kawasaki Global Innovation Gateway SKYFRONT. She
also worked briefly with Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support & Iqvia, Management Consulting arm.
She has a deep interest in tech-transfer and has been actively working as a remote mentor for
UNLEASH: SDGs Innovation Lab. During her time in Japan she has represented Japan at many global
platforms such as Novartis Biotechnology Leadership Camp (2015), Global Health Entrepreneurship
Program (2015), Hult Prize (2016), Women in Engineering Workshop (2018) & 100 Leaders of
Tomorrow, Gap Summit (2019).
She has been an avid advocate of “equal opportunity by quality education”: CEO & Co-Founder,
SmartCitySolutions, India based initiative connecting students from India to Silicon Valley-based
Community College for Quality Education & developing global skill set to resolve the problem of
unemployment in India.
She devotes her time to mentor high school students & younger female generation, works as
facilitator for Women Empowerment Programs across Japan (700+ students from the junior high
school, high school & universities).
She has also been active in the space of India-Japan relationship development having represented
the Indian diaspora in Japan, in 1st ever Japan India Exchange Platform Program (JIEPP) Symposium
held in Tokyo. She has developed Japanese Culture & Language Program at University Level (Jaipur,
India).
